Since last April, following the allied invasion of Iraq, the SPR fill rate has averaged over 1 million barrels a week, or about 1 percent of U.S. crude oil demand.
At the current pace, the fill would need to go on for about another year to reach the 700-million-barrel target.
The question is -
WHY IS OIL BEING ADDED TO THE STRATEGIC PETROLEUM RESERVE?
